Today marks the start of National Science and Engineering Week, which celebrates science, engineering and technology. Funnily enough, “week” is a misnomer, as it actually runs ten days and is over on March 15, 2009. National Science and Engineer Week is coordinated by the British Science Association, funded by the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills, and in partnership with the Engineering Technology Board.
Last year, 1.4 million people attended over 3,500 events across the U.K.! This year will also offer thousands of events throughout the country in schools, museums, shopping malls and pubs. You can search by region, town, date or by topic of interest to find an event to attend.
Competitions and activities include:
- Save Our Bees Campaign
- How unique are you? (Can be done online)
