And you thought pigeons couldn’t be cute…

Remember how I told you guys about the cute little pint-sized pigeons I saw in St. Maarten? Well, I never saw them again so I didn’t get a chance to take my own photos, but after some internet research, I found out what they are and learned that I was pretty close.
Pigeons and doves are both in the family called Columbidae, and these guys are common ground doves. I wasn’t far off about them being able to fit in the palm of your hand. At 6-7 inches with an 11 inch wingspan, and weighing only 28-40 grams, it is one of the world’s smallest pigeons.
