Tomorrow is World Oceans Day.
The Ocean Project urges everyone to celebrate in their campaign, “Wear Blue and Tell Two”. The first part is obvious….wear something blue. I’ll give you extra points if it’s a cool ocean-themed shirt. The second part is simple…tell people two things they likely don’t know about our ocean and how they can help. Extra points for targeting adults.
Why am I telling you to target adults? Well, the “Wear Blue and Tell Two” campaign was inspired in part by the results of America, the Ocean, and Climate Change, the largest-ever environmental study, in which data was based upon 22,000 responses from American adults between August and November of 2008. The survey found that young people aged 12-17 care more about the ocean, know more about ocean issues, and are more willing to act on the ocean’s behalf than adults. So let’s go educate some grown-ups!
